My gas industry guru boss wrote in 2023 we should sanction Russia to depose Putin as guy's proclivities weren't compatible with our interests/ or civilisation, he belatedly realised, he said, like many in his position. JHC, over 2 decades to see Putin was seriously evil. And was that the issue?

No, it was Putin smashing up the market and turning people away from gas. All Putin had done before was ignorable, "yeah but cheap gas".
Unbelievable arrogance from a man paid $millions by private and state bodies to be an expert, "I missed it, we all did".

Yes, transition to more gas. I was an LNG reporter in 2005 and saw that crap pushed as LNG hit the big time, overwhelmingly by men who didn't know or care about climate change, executing decades-old plans, sucking up $10s, $100s of billions in investment away from other energies, sealing our fate.

I'd love a comparison - in pictures or video - from an environmentalist, and a pro-petroleum/LNG lobbyist, comparing what their ideal environment looks like. Clean lakes, forests, beaches vs. smokestacks, pollution, dead animals, etc. Sure, we need energy, but do we have to burn stuff to get it?
