They neither understand the bible in whole or even the lines they read... their reading comprehension is 4th grad level at most... you have to have much higher reading comprehension to understand even the simplest lines. " Love thy Neighbor as thyself" is too complicated for them
It’s remarkable so many Christians on the Internet confess that they’ve never read any of the gospels. Or any other part of the Bible?like what the fuck?? they’re Christians, but they don’t even know what Jesus taught? 🤨
Indeed. I'm personally fond of Ecclesiastes 9:5, "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten." No afterlife--not even in others' memories.
Rabidly intolerant and militant atheist here, but I gotta admit the Song of Solomon is some of the greatest love poetry ever written. And Leviticus is funny.
I once sat next to a lady reading her bible while we were waiting to board a plane. She turned to a double-page spread where every verse was highlighted except for one. I had to take a peek. It was the one that tells us we should feed the hungry, house the homeless and take care of the sick
There should be a rule. Follow the Bible in its entirety or shut the fuck up. I respect people with faith, but not those who selectively choose their verses. Signed: respectful atheist.
Yeah, like, 'whatsoever you do to the least of my people, that you do unto me.'. Or how about 'love your God with all your heart, and love each other as I love you.'
They really need to look into what Jesus meant by "love". I think they are missing the mark on that one.
Must be thinking of Marco Rubio. He posted one everyday. I quit FB so I am not sure if in his new position he is still hypocritically posting while stamping on every Christian value.

On 50501 day outside a church in Sacramento, CA!
I'm just not a literalist. That's not encouraged in my church.
And I would troll Fundies with scary Bible quotes to piss them off 😂

15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.
16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
