It all depends on how artificial intelligence is used. For example, it can speed up a lot of specialized and repetitive work. It can be a great help for people with physical or psychological difficulties, to improve work performance.

Technology is there to make people's lives easier, but too much of it is bad. Obviously, depending on AI can lead to a lower intellectual development of the person, but as I say, it all depends on how we use it. We have intelligence and our duty when using it is to use it well.

This isn't a case of "too much tech is bad" - some tech is just blanket bad and should be dismantled and destroyed whole cloth.

Gen AI:
-gets its data unethically
-uses tremendous amounts of energy and water
-puts people out of work
-constantly gets bad results!

As I say again, it depends on how you use it xD. You only know the bad side of the coin xD. I recommend you watch documentaries about the Industrial Revolutions. Maybe you hate what you have in your hands to publish? XD. Don't say things that are not 100% true.
AI is a tool, not a substitute.

I am aware of the industrial revolution. Are you aware of the Luddites? They fought against the new automated machines for the exact same reasons: their output was worse, it put people out of jobs, and in their case it enabled/required literal child labour. It wasn't "they hate tech"

I think there's been similar studies showing that assisted driving features make people drive *worse*, and not better.

skills atrophy from lack of use, and knowledge is lost when you outsource it.

Yeah, it's obvious if you think about it for even a moment. When I don't practice another language I lose it. When I don't practice an instrument I lose it! (I have forgotten a lot of skills I used to have)

Turns out not practicing "thinking" also loses you that skill

I recently encountered someone who didn't understand how anyone can read an analog clock that doesn't have numbers printed on it. Everybody used to be able to do that!
