I hope the ease with which TikTok could be shut on and off at least encourages people to look into owning more physical media. I am a ebook reader I love ebooks, but I’m just saying how easily these companies can take them away. Same with shows & music. - ThreadSky

I got into buying CDs last year. There’s been way too many times where I like a song on Spotify or Apple Music, only for it to get delisted and become unplayable at a random time.

Seriously I have started collecting any shows and movies I like physically instead of getting another streaming service

Like yeah right now it could be more expensive, but at least I can watch it whenever even in 20 years and the price didn’t change

I lost access to a series of eReader books on Amazon a few weeks ago when the publisher folded and did not sell the rights to anyone else. No warning they were just gone one day.

At the very least I would love to see more downloadable DRM free media. I have a few ebooks like that as well as some audiobook mp3s (all legally) but it's not common
