💯 agree. She stepped up and, with so little time, almost pulled it out. The Dems had headwinds in a global backlash against incumbents. She is remarkable, and I will forever be grateful to her. 🙏
Per the Cook Report (11/24): 49.86% of voters for Trump; 48.26 for Harris. Of our 59 presidential elections, only 5 popular vote winners have prevailed by smaller % margins than Trump (1.6 points). Trump's win was a “squeaker," not "mandate." Harris came so close...perhaps if she'd had more time...
There is also the unfortunate possibility that Harris could have won the popular vote but lost in the Electoral College. It's important, though, to push back on anyone who claims they have an overwhelming "mandate" from the election. It was a "squeaker" (that's a technical term!).
Agreed. The bravest person at the time when no one dared. Even in loss, she's steely and calm, poise and gracious, professional and exemplary. "Do Not Despair," she reminded and warned. No 3 words have ever been so strong, so powerful - and relatable in any situation.
Yes. It makes me sick. Voters could choose hopeful, kind, brilliant, sympathetic, with real plans to continue the improved economy, protect women’s autonomy, enshrine voting rights, protect the vulnerable; they chose darkness & cruelty instead. 1/2 of us are terrified
