I'm not so sure the Supreme Court's 'toughness' will last unless their own 401k's are at risk, as when the financial markets collapse. The same for most republican billionaires and donors. They don't care about human rights or democracy, but will intervene only when wealth evaporates.

There's no reason to thank God for this Supreme Court. It helped Trump escape accountability for his crimes and enabled his 2024 election win, and ruled that he can violate court orders with impunity. They are more responsible than almost anyone for what is happening now.
