A reduction from 8 billion to 2 billion would have zero impact on the climate - the richest 80 million humans cause more greenhouse gas emissions than the poorest 5 billion humans.

Let’s make it even simpler:
The French Revolution is a classic example: Emperor Napoleon and his elites lived perhaps not quite as lavishly as Louis XVI but his conquests and wars caused immense natural destruction across Europe.
We need to distribute wealth fairly and equally AND reduce our carbon and other footprints.
Expropriate the 1%, redistribute the wealth, create a just world. And in the same time we can reduce our footprints.
The extreme wealth of the 1920s is comparable to today.
The number of “ultra high net-worth” fuckers is higher than ever before.

The greenhouse gas emissions is what needs to be stopped.
It's about taxation and beneficial use of wealth, not about population.
It is possible to fly without emissions. It is possible to have a very large mansion without concrete.
It is possible to have a luxury yacht without emissions.
But the combination of wealth and quite common carelessness lets the emissions explode. No one without that level of wealth would manage to get so high emissions as they couldn't afford the cost of the consumption.
- Poverty that prevents to invest in efficiency
- So much wealth, that they don't need to care about efficiency for financial reasons
Zero emissions luxury yachts are a perfect example.
But the wealth is not the cause of emissions - fossil fuels and concrete are not essential ingredients for a luxury lifestyle. Quite the opposite.
