The Yellow and White lines are repeating (identical averages) between the year markers.

Indeed. The yellow one being a maximum of a set on each given day, hence no discontinuity as the highest 1 Jan temperature would almost certainly be very close to the highest 31 Dec temperature.

For the white (average) the slight discontinuity can (probably) be interpreted as the annual drift.
