I honestly enjoy the extra hour of sleep but either is fine just pick one & leave the clocks alone. Congress has been saying this for years every time the clocks change. Wish someone do it already
What that would've done, if it made it into law, would make DST permanent, something we actually tried back in '74, but it didn't even last a full year.
From an AG standpoint DST is completely worthless and we get the same amount of light relative to season regardless of it. But Tromple the Pumpkin King appears to have gotten into elon's Ketamine lozenges.
A lot of fond memories of daylight savings from my younger days, Summer vacation from school, more daylight for pickup games of baseball, football, and basketball in the neighborhood, just hanging out, going to miss it if it goes.
Honestly everyone I know hates Daylight Savings Time, and it’s also true that both car accidents and suicides reliably increase in the week after springing ahead. I cannot believe I’m saying this, but he’s right on this one thing: Daylight Savings Time needs to be abolished.
I think that's more about the change resulting in loss of 1 hr of sleep, which happens when transitioning from standard to DS time. There are arguments to be made for both DS and std, but as long as we can stop switching, I'm for it. Can't believe I'm saying it, but I'm with Trump on this!
Seems that whatever we have now, he wants to take away. He is the only one to make any rules or laws. So, take it away and put back something he can rule over. Remember, only he can fix it, even if it's not broken.
I don't think he knows which is which, & but he knows the semiannual time changes are a problem. Ending the clock changes is long overdue but congress just picks their nose on easy shit like this
Neither plants nor animals bind their day to day activities to whatever the clock says. Humans are the only species that do that, for better or worse. So why should we fiddle with something we've standardized centuries ago?+
While this timepiece is very recent and made with cheaper mass produced components, the core principle behind the technology that powers it dates back to the 17th century, with a bit of help with 18th century tech, as this is an automatic watch.
Mexico already eliminated changing clocks twice a year. Why is the U.S. still unable to accomplish what Mexico has already accomplished? There's a story about a silly goose who tried to make her skirt longer by cutting a piece from the top and sewing it to the bottom hem. Reminds me of the U.S.
No, they tried to enact all year daylight savings time in 1973 and stopped it after a year. Apparently a lot of kids got killed walking home from school or at the bus stop in that year.
If he’s like a ton of people on Threads, he has it confused with Standard Time. But he’d probably eliminate it anyway because he’s hiring idiots like him.
DST is known to increase health risks, especially in the spring when we lose an hour. I love that it’s lighter later in the summer, but I could live with standard time. However, switching to standard time only will have some parts of the US not seeing a sunrise until after 9:00 am. 😳
Switching back-and-forth 2X a year causes car accidents, more heart attacks, and a whole lot of wasted time resetting clocks etc. Whether the whole year is kept the way we now have it in the summer or is kept the way we now have it in the winter doesn’t matter; but there should be only one time.
No you’re backwards. The whole thing is built for agrarian society that needs more light during harvest season. This is why we shorten winter days so we can have more summer daylight
Who cares about daylight savings time. There are 1000s of more important issues. I rather have an extra hour at the end of the day instead of a 4am sunrise when practically everyone is sleeping and indoors.
Apples and oranges. Daylight savings time is not moving the needle. It's not a matter of foreign affairs. It's not an economic policy. It doesn't provide grants or tax credits to boost jobs or investments. It doesn't address housing or healthcare. It's a slight inconvenience. It's not on my radar.
I've been a proponent of splitting the difference and calling it day, but my new bit is to just knock off work/school an hour early in Dec/Jan. Just take it easier for two dark cold months - who gives a fuck?
Wait… you’re proving my point. Not everyone gets to just take off early, so it’d be nice if DST was year-round so there’s at least some light during the evening commute.
During the fall, with DST, the sun doesn't rise until almost 8 am. During the summer, the temps around here remain in the 100s until almost 10 pm. I'd rather the sun set "earlier" and it start to cool off then drive to work when it's still dark. I clock in at 8, why am I up before the sun?
Those of us on the east coast will have the sun coming up at 4am during the summer. I’m all for having daylight savings time all year. I want the sun up longer in the afternoon
Right now, Trump voters are anxiously watching Fox News for a dumbass, lame excuse why Trump can't lower the price of eggs. Forget the powers of the Presidency in the US Constitution!
Somehow, someway, Trump will blame the radical left, BLM, antifa, Clinton, Obama, Biden, Harris Deep State cabal.

No need to fuss when he actually gloms onto a decent idea.
They don't understand we're in standard time right now. They think this is Daylight Savings.
Also it would've set daylight time to be year-round...
Oopsies please forgive me 🙏
Why do you insist on maximizing tunnel vision?
What about hoverboards? We've been asking for years! C'mon, Mr. President, make them give us our hoverboards!
