I’m sure that the problem is very complex and will only get worse over the next four years. Wonder if some sort of national network of mentors would help? I’m in the medical field and I educate my patients on what I’m doing and what they need to know, all while getting them to relax and trust.

If I were somehow magically put in charge of fixing education today, my first order of business would be to gather a wide variety of teachers from all over the country and ask them what they need to fix it - because they know what they need. My second order would be to pay them at least $80k/yr.

I’m stunned. I had no idea there was a SS 100% pay input cap and the ceiling is $168,600. Why? Why is the cap so low on everyone who must pay into SS? Do the rich claim SS when they’re eligible? Is it based only on the cap or their entire lifetime earnings? Regardless, they should not receive SS.

There is a cap and many people get a pay raise in the middle of the year when those SS taxes stop coming out. The first time it happened to me I thought I’d gotten a raise or something. For people like Musk who are rich they probably never even notice!
