Authoritarian leaders pushing their little soldier pawns because it's all big macho game to them. Discussing peace is showing weakness for them, they only believe in military force.
Time to acknowledge that Israel is no ally but as much a destabilising authoritarian expansionist power than Russia is
Wait, I don't get it. What is Israel's incentive for this operation? Isn't the fall of the Assad Regime in their favour? HST has no love lost for Israel, but a preemptive operation will surely antagonize them further?
Wouldn't it be better to help stabilize Syria's government?
source? they are protecting a part of their border and the border with Libanon, but i find it hard to believe they have any interest in Damascus, then destroying advanced weapons.
Israel took Mount Hermon because it was undefended and has incredible strategic value. This will not be seen too kindly by Syrians but at the moment they are unable to do anything about it,the strikes on weapons lessen the chance of them being able to do much in the future.

Way to go BiBi ... again
Israel is destroying what’s left of former Syrian military capability
New Syrian government needs new gear
russia is willing to sell or give them new gear cheaply, in exchange for keeping the Tartus and Kheimim bases
Thus, Israel helps russia with this
🤷
New Syrian government wouldn't need much military capabilities, and those capabilities can be acquired from Turkey anyway.
Oh fuck
Who invited the Israelis???

More like warmongers.
Israeli tanks are ~40km from Damascus, and aren't speeding up to cover that distance.
Israel is establishing a buffer zone, not fighting against the (former) rebels for Damascus.
