52k Ukrainians have been trained since 2022 by operation Interflex. A further 22k were trained between 2015-22 as part of operation Orbital. That's 74k in total trained in the UK
Again? We have been for a long time - since before russia even invaded Ukraine. Operation Orbital was launched 10 years ago, FYI. Maybe we do more than you realise - and not just in Ukraine...
Sure, these 13 countries does a lot of good giving basic training to new recruits.
But, the brutal lessons on the battlefield can't be given by anyone but the Ukranians.
(And, some UKR instructors should train some of the instructors from the 13 countries - they need to learn & prepare)
Exactly what I was thinking. Is Ukrainian manpower so thin that they can’t pull enough experienced troops out of the line to train recruits? Nobody has more insight into what this kind of war takes at this point than the Ukrainians themselves.
Lets say they run a battalion through each one...in a three month period that's 13 Battalions of western trained combat ready troops every 3 months. Russia is fucked.
I mean, should not that action have reverse roles ?
