I had a "friend" tell me prior to the election he hated Kamala because of her hyena laugh. About 8 years ago he made fun of me for my laugh so I told him that I love listening to Kamala laugh, as someone who has also been similarly mocked for laughing.

I've since cut off contact post-election.

You’re asking the wrong person. I wasn’t raised that way, we feel and experience joy in my family, but my dad was a music teacher, I’m a social worker.

I mean it’s the way some people are raised. My partner is 💯 Swedish and kinda old, and his parents are kinda staid. Music makes him experience joy, in ways most other things can’t.

Lots of white people haven’t experienced the sort of real hardships that makes one seek community for joy, I think.
