A common misconception about Canadians is that they say ‘aboot’. That’s true of some wacky east coasters but they mostly say ‘about’. What they say weird is ‘sorry’

Yeah - my impression is that Torontoians don't say sorry extra often (they say it a normal amount of the time, relative to my standard of "normal"). Of course, I've been in Toronto for 4 years now, so I might just subconsciously perceive the Canadian amount - high for Americans - as "normal".
(realizing that I'm dumb because I'm mixing up the california vowel shift, which exists in Canada, and Canadian raising, which does not exist in California, but maybe does in the mid-atlantic??)
Eh, I guess it depends on what part of Canada. Nearly all the Canadians that I know pronounce it more like "a-boat" (due to "Canadian raising"). "Sore-y" and "proh-cess" are pretty common too.
