This also applies to anyone supporting FNAF, well done morons, you're giving money to a guy that funded and continues to fund pretty much every single fascist politician,

I think "Death of the Artist" and J.K. Rowling don't go together well because, even if her work isn't explicitly Anti-Trans, her work does straight-out have spcially acceptable Slavery and Anti-Semitism. Like... It's in the text and it's barely hidden.
Every if she disconnected completely on a financial & legal level, she still created it. HP made her famous. Her fame gives her a platform for her harmful rhetoric.
I have the same opinion.
I like Harry Potter, I grew up with the movies, but I hate JK Rowling so much. She profits off of it and funds her terfy shit plans and other terfy organizations, which made trans people's lives worse or even indirectly killed them.
I've stopped consuming anything that was made by her or where she was involved and got a profit with it since she publicly said that she hates trans people on Twitter.
Her creative empire is too vast that simply pirating it won't do anything. It's not about the money, but the person using their expansive reach for biggotry. Millions still cling to her every word. Completely shun her & works and encourage others to do the same.
Shun her, treat Harry Potter fans as if they were Sonic Fans during 2006, Star Wars fans in 2020 (as a punchline), and don't even think about pirating.
I thought we were done hating people for the things they liked. Like, we left that in 2006. Say what you will about Rowling (and you should, she's a scummy person), but HP means a lot to a lot of people. For what it's worth I was never a fan, but I'm not gonna be a hater.
I am tired of having this discussion with Ren & Stimpy fans, and we KNOW what kind of fans that treat her words as gospel (remember wizards shitting?).
Rowling keeps diggin' that grave, eventually it will be a sinkhole that will drag everything with her.
Who's we, you and the mouse in your pocket? I think anyone over the age of 18 who still likes Harry Potter, even setting aside the creators despicable behavior, is a clown who needs to grow up and read a different book. Add Rowling's bullshit on top and I also think they're probably a bigot.
I have witnessed firsthand as to how abhorrent a fandom can get. Multipule times, at that (see: grummz on twitter trying to force himself into fandoms).
All it takes is one ghoul to become the face of a fandom and a bunch of fans that will go "yep, he's trustworthy enough!".
For clarity's sake: enjoying a property DOES NOT mean you are part of its fandom. This is one of the first things you learn as a member of the Internet who likes something niche. Just ask any furry 🙃
I like reading HP Lovecraft. HP Lovecraft was a racist. Both of these things can be true. Lovecraft died without making real profit off his work. Cosmic horror as a genre grew beyond his narrow worldview after he died.
I liked Harry Potter as a kid. JK innovated nothing. No more money for her.
I’ve refused to watch the last season of What We Do in the Shadows after Taika Waititi put his name on that bullshit ass letter supporting Israel’s genocide.

Like Doug Tenaple and Scott Adams are shitlords, but they're not supporting terrorism. So supporting Harry Potter is more dangerous.
The issue is Harry Potter is way too big to fail, even as a fanbase. So all that's left is making alternatives.

If you're pushing for the growth of the property's market value in any way you're less than dirt.
