The coming weeks are very uncertain for us. If my partner is selected for jury duty tomorrow, he will not be earning any income for 2-3 weeks and that means we definitely won't be able to pay our bills for February. 💀 I have 3 job interviews lined up for this week, but we still need help!!!!

I'd say "my household's financial stability is on the line" is a perfectly reasonable burden to excuse someone from jury duty, but I also do not doubt the United States dumpster of a justice system's ability to be unnecessarily cruel.
