Lived there for 16 years and left it in 2020. No one in 🇨🇦 has a clue about US healthcare and how insurance companies work. If you say out of network to a Cdn they have no clue.

Well I hope Canadians are smarter. I know your system isn’t perfect, but it’s better than a 70k bill only three months into the year. And she has what’s considered good insurance. But the hospital he HAS to go to, is out of network. Hence the high cost.

Medical costs are out of control here. I had a Dr appointment last year. One appt that was about 30 minutes. Cost me $450 and that was with insurance.

Man, that’s ridiculous. The last year I was there the company I worked for shifted to high risk insurance as they could no longer afford the employer payments on lower priced plans. My monthly went up, my out of pocket went up & overall coverage went down.
