My wife loved TikTok, but still rarely watched an entire video. I signed up for it to see what the hubbub was all about, only to give up after a couple minutes. I was/am a heavy Facebooker, as in my one day away is already more than since 2011, but I think I can do this

I briefly signed up for TT when someone suggested it as a means to promote my radio shows - weird, because I am doctrinally opposed to self-promotion of any kind. There could be actual content there but to me it looks like a septic tank explosion.

You speak for me, apparently. Spotify is ugly and objectionable. I’d rather steal music than support them. I never joined xwitter, to begin w. Deleted TikTok after a couple days. Fb though, for all the reasons you said, hard to leave. I might not. Just doing both for now to see what happens I guess.

I've always joked that I have no life, so I have no worries about TicTok knocked off and such. Boycotting FB is a bit a slog for me, too. However, I'll be using that missing amount of time to catch up on project and feel like a human being in the middle of this AZ desert.

I hear ya…but just remember how absolutely dreadful the majority of interactions are there. I’m missing a lot of my favourite instagram content…especially arts, music and design but I guess we just gotta rebuild it here!

It’s true, my friends list very much was made up of those with…you know…good values. That being said I often waded into comment sections…at first in an attempt to win hearts and minds with logic. When that failed I just got angry and started using morons and bigots as punching bags.

I'm in touch (so to speak) with lots of folks from my past & present who I'd otherwise never hear from, lotsa folks with common interests, etc., not to mention obsessively trawling FB marketplace & have met cool folx via FB groups. It's going to be a slog but will be interesting to see if it sticks.
