When I was in first grade the vice principal of my elementary school came into the class on MLK day and sat down and told us how he marched with MLK. He showed us pictures of him as a young man. I know I didn’t understand a lot of what he was telling us but seeing those photos stayed with me.

There are things he should have done differently. I think that’s true about all of us in our 20s into our early 30s, and beyond.

Because he was murdered, he didn’t get much time to really grow and become the elder he deserved to be one day.
