This list is a lot scarier to me because it is easy for them to compile and a very small number of people in comparison. Last year I had a pit in my stomach abt my trans son changing his legal docs BECAUSE I didn’t like him self identifying in a way that Rs could easily put him on a list.

Thanks. Yeah I was planning on us doing legal name change next, that is something that isn’t just done by trans ppl so it feels safer. But his chosen name is very boy coded, there’s no gender ambiguity, I am just that paranoid atm. Plus he has to send fingerprints into FBI and SBI, don’t love that

In the UK there is a permenant "register" of every person who gets a new birth certificate with the updated gender marker. Most UK trans people decide not to get legal gender recognition precisely because we don't want to be on a centralised government list for fear of a future fascist government
