Yeah, it was okay, but the self-reverence was a bit silly and the inconsistency of the universe was maddening. At least the characters weren’t all complete idiots a la Prometheus

I agree, I don't know why they keep making such crap looking end boss Aliens, like H.R. Gigers Alien is a stunning creation on so many levels, it really is the perfect organism.

I’ve come to the conclusion that there aren’t the skilled FX artists to make such a thing nowadays, the original big chap was the greatest.
I got excited when I saw the chrome teeth, then saw a side shot and was deflated. What a mess.

That's so true, I think there is so much reliance on CGI as opposed to real-life SFX. I love the gritty look of the early aliens' movies.

They used loads of practical effects on this film, they got the face huggers right, just made a mess of the Aliens head.
Stan Winston did a pretty good job on Aliens as well, but the last decent looking one was Alien3’s.

Giger said the Aliens on Resurrection looked like turds, haha. 😂

Yeah, the "get away from her, you bitch" made absolutely no sense too. Ok, 'get away from her', fine, but the addition of 'you bitch' made absolutely no sense in the moment and turned it into a self-parody

It’s a great film, I’ll defend Alien3 to my grave. Amazing cast, incredible score, beautiful alien design, it’s a shame Fox wouldn’t allow Fincher to get on with it.

There were some interesting bits added, I liked the hugger packets and the bleak colony life, and the Rook idea (awfully executed).. the best bit was Andy though, didn’t really care about any of the other characters.
The best thing about the modern Alien films are the Artificial’s for me.
