What I'm missing here is the voices of "builders", tech people who are posting about their startups etc.

I liked balancing my Twitter diet between the super enthusiastic (often overhyping) tech crowd, and the more realistic, skeptical voices.

With lots of journos here, it feels like the skeptcal side is here, but the other side is sticking to X (which makes sense, since many of them are probably more Musk-aligned)

Great to see you here @gergely.pragmaticengineer.com. I found you on Twitter, followed you on Threads as well but it looks like BlueSky has the juice! Hope you and others stick around here more. It’s definitely far more conducive to tech discussions compared to both Twitter & Threads

I really hope so as well. Is there anything in the Bluesky architecture / capabilities that's going to prevent large botfarms and malicious / annoying actors from poisoning discussions here as well?

I feel very much the same. It's surprisingly focused, and also makes me slow down, and engage with folks that's about something.

Pieter Levels just posted that he's noticed that the x algorithm seems to be favoring broad topics atm, and so more narrow topics like software dev don't float to the top and you just don't see it on x atm.

The feed is just full of stuff that is vague and not personally gripping.

When X was banned in Brazil there was a big migration of most of the people I follow, family and friends here. But most American/European/Elsewhere people were still in old Twitter. The latest shift is heartwarming. Hope the trend continues.
