Our approach required us to build 2 products essentially. We first had to build a great working Open Source Package. Once that was really usable, we could eventually shift the focus to our Cloud Product to start monetizing
The solution would be own hardware instead of cloud for the managed offer, but very few SaaS companies have that expertise.
