Black Friday is never worth it unless it was an item you've held off on buying waiting for a reduction.

And most vendors are completely clued in and hold prices arbitrarily high to 'cut' them at the right time. To a level they would've sold at previously. Using the hype of the occasion.

Do you have anyone monitoring retail prices in the run up to black Friday (from about April time) to see if they're hiking it only to drop back down to normal prices? Black Friday used to appear like genuine savings, i.e. normal price throughout the year then discounts.

My daughter is a student and is looking for a good saving account.

All the student accounts we can find are aimed at getting her into to further debt offer large overdrafts that increase in size each year of her course.

Any recommendations?

I searched in September, I found Halifax kids saver had the best interest rates and easy access etc. obviously there’s isa’s but more complex

Black Friday is only worth if you are looking to buy a certain item and are willing to wait. For me I'll pick a new iPhone (existing one is old and does need a replacement), the price not doubt won't change - but often they give gift cards with items bought within the week of BF.

Combined mortgage/current account (One Account). Mine is paid off and the term is ending, so I need to move to a regular current account. However, because of the product I’m moving from, a standard 7 day switch won’t work. I have to manually contact all incoming payments. Could this be made easier?

Scottish cold weather payments are a basic amount every year but we are worse off. the whole of Scotland are on the same rate, so families living in the north get around 4/5 wks of very cold weather but receive far less than under the UK government system. can you encourage them to make it fairer?

Most of our gas doesn’t come from Russia, and even electricity created from wind and solar is charged as though it comes from gas! If the costs of generating electricity have gone up, & companies are just passing on that cost, why have their profits soared since 2022?

It’s not ‘our’ gas though is it? Gas from the North Sea is sold on the international markets and is priced as such. Unless we tax it more it doesn’t benefit us with lower energy prices.

Switching bank accounts - Banks etc will sort it all out for you (so they say) but what happens to monies that go into your account eg DWP Pensions and Private pensions? Should you change these yourself?

Student loan repayments when someone has 2 PAYE jobs. 1 under threshold. Due to completing a Self assessment form for high earner child benefit repayment HMRC now saying SL repayments due on whole income. UNFAIR for parents and discriminatory. Pls help.
