It's just showing the massive issue with housing supply & homelessness
Some rise is OK. Especially with inflation being crazy and in places that still lag behind 2008.
However personally;

If you then want or need to move, your next house has also gone up so you haven’t made a profit.
Meanwhile those on low incomes cannot get on the first rung of the ladder.
But those who could change this also have wealth-in-property.
Which explains why any such efforts have added (taxpayers) money to the demand-side, without addressing supply.
I bought my home for £225k 12 years ago. My folks live in a similar home where they paid £125k a decade before that.
My home is now valued at £500k. How are my kids ever supposed to achieve the same when wages have stagnated for decades?
