I don't understand the reason for using a 3d printed gun at all. He wasn't taking it on a plane, right? Is it that hard to procure a handgun in NY/PA?

the intent is likley to be as untracable as possible, carrying a handgun without a CCP in ny is a Felony aswell as carrying a "silencer" (legal term) and an assault weapon which this firearm is classified as.
it would not go through metal detectors either.

Interesting read! Seems like the reliability issue with the 3D-printed frame might have been the reason that the gun jammed (at least it looked like the gun jammed in the video of the shooting.)

the issue is each gun manufacturer changes what the "gun" is. Sig puts the serial often times on the firing pin housing. Some put it on the frame.

But we cant regulate shit because republicans exist.
