You would assume as a neighbor and ally that sharing might improve the electric grid in a mutually beneficial way through some redundancy. If I lived in Canada I would consider any reliance on the US to be a national security risk.
Any infrastructure that relies on US cooperation and can't be swapped out in less than a year is a big risk. They can't consider us to be a reliable NATO ally and it's gonna suck for a lot of people worst of all the US. Turning a win win into a lose lose.
YUP. For the record, Republicans are the we don't want to do anything that will move us into the 21st century party. And they're very successful at it.
I've long said Canada will own us one day because we are running out of water and they have loads of water. May happen a lot sooner if we keep doing stupid stuff and they turn off the lights here.
Also goes without saying, but obviously I guess you don't understand legislation w/all that's happening now๐คท๐พโโ๏ธ this is not a dictatorship where whoever is in charge gets to wake up and do whatever he wants (๐ฎwe don't put women in charge here), or he decrees whatever he wants done and it's to be done.
1 of 2. Would have been a dumb move. "For more than a century, the U.S. and Canada have sold each other electricity through power lines that criss-cross the border, an arrangement that has historically hummed along thanks to the warm relationship between the two countries. That changed this week.
2 of 2.
On Monday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced the province was imposing a 25% surcharge on electricity exported to three U.S. states: Michigan, Minnesota & New York. The move was in response to President Trump's tariffs on Canada." Was fine til Trump fucked around and is now finding out.
Almost like when you wife wakes up and wants to remove old wallpaper and redo countertops and flooring she says is outdated. She has 8 upgrade projects and you cry "how can we afford this" and bargain it down to 3 so others stay in state of desrepair but you don't care as you never noticed em anyway
Cmon, you know the GOP is why we can't have nice things at home. GOP didn't want to do badly needed infrastructure upgrades Biden and Democrats wanted in the infrastructure bill. That's mentioned at the top of the thread. GOP legislators try to strip out as many fixes/upgrades as they can
Republicans say they do this crap to lower taxes. But in reality like the tariffs, they are actually raising taxes exponentially. Any person with a good education can figure this out. But these dumb fucks continue their ignorance. Or maybe kicking the libs asses๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ.
Republicans donโt think beyond money they can keep in their pocket in the next 12 months. Unleashing the renewable power industry in the US will bring stability and profits over their childrenโs life time.

If GOP put constituents first instead of selling themselves to donors who demand soft terms and tax exemptions to keep burning dirty coal, then Republican-run states wouldn't be such shithole states dependent on Democratic states to fund failing southern states.

Blame it on your Party for their Obstructionism. Ever looked to see who got Americans good things, and who gave America shifty laws, take a look at that sometime, instead of asking X platform-styled inane questions.
Why didn't your own party do anything?
That's right Boris, they don't give a shit about anyone but themselves.
Cry more.
