Neighbour just got one , tried to persuade him not too ! He wanted polestar , but more expensive and long lead time,Tesla discounted &was available in 2 weeks & he wanted to beat the new Luxury car tax (£400pa) effective from April 5th - only reason for temporary rise in UK- It's still a Swasticar!

Yes basically any car over certain price incurs a £400 premium lux road tax from April so if delivered prior to that you dodge £400 on going on that cars annual road tax ! The only reason UK sales are up is coz they can be shipped in from the unsold production slots at Tesla Germany plant

We have a couple of tax changes coming in at the start of April that make Feb-Mar the best time ever to buy an expensive EV. So: Tesla is growing but losing market share. Other brands are growing at around 50%, compared to Tesla's 20%. Tesla is also discounting heavily.
