I've seen it suggested that it's a tiny bit more sabotaging to leave without deleting, the idea being that a dead account gives Twitter a false hope it'll revive (which will influence decisions on server-capacity etc).

Any thoughts/comments, anyone?

Makes sense. FWIW I never acquired the interest/habit, so if not auto-closed pre-Musk mine'll be Miss Haversham-level cobwebbed by now. 🙂

Have thought about using a burner/mask email to open a new one to never use either, just as a taunt. 🤔

Having an account on there enables him to claim you as a user for advertisers and mine your data for AI, so if you're not using it and don't care about keeping your name, it's best to delete it.

I guess it's mostly about how active your account has been.

FWIW I reckon that any advertisers using X will be well aware that Musk BSs about its stats, and users can expect 'so sue me' if/when it's shown data is used unlawfully. 🙄

It's question if deleting of all tweets helps at all. There will be multiple backups in his internal systems, including DMs, he can use for AI training. Only effective solution seems to be to constantly convincing others to leave the network for Bluesky.
