Yes It has a built in a battery but being wifi dependant should be connected thought the USB-C from time to time.

Good news is that if you create a good low power system battery life can increase a lot.

Well companies are starting to move forward but not yet. You have the Arduino Nano Matter and the some Seed Studio products too that are compatible with Thread+Matter. But you will need to add a e-ink display with touch capabilities by yourself 🤔

Was hoping for something that would plug with HA off the shelves. Not sure thats in the books right now. But it means you can't really disconnect it from wifi if you also want some kind of interface with it. That's a bit disappointing ...

Please take into account it is still a WIP, no a proper readme and some features like low power management can be added in the feature. But the arduino code is at least self-explanatory :)
