Harlan County, USA won an Oscar, but for years, it was nearly impossible to find. Shot on fragile 16mm, prints deteriorated, and home video releases were scarce. Without restoration, this landmark labor doc could’ve been lost to time. Thankfully, Criterion saved it. Now, it lives on.
