Much of the English-language rules are arbitrary and were decided by some stuffy long-dead white guy who wrote a book about how their preference was the best way of doing things. Case in point, "The Elements of Style" by Strunk & White (two stuffy long-dead white guys).

But in seriousness, no. Getting a new reviewer at that stage is a long process in one already fraught with delays. There's also a shortage of reviewers right now, not unrelated to broader labor issues in the US.
