Ended up in the ER today. My heart started racing and wouldn’t stop for over an hour. Had to have an injection of adenosine to get my heart back in rhythm. Apparently I have SVT - possibly too much stress, exhaustion, dehydration. Will go see a cardiologist immediately. Thanks LACOFD & St John’s 🙏🏼

It's an electrical fault. I had SVT for years and it was cured a year ago with an ablation. Not a big deal.

SVT is not caused by stress. It is a structural anomaly in the electrical circuitry of your heart. I suffered from it for decades - fearful of the surgery. However, the surgery was a breeze and I live comfortably now without the fear of one of those horrific attacks pouncing on me out of the blue.

I had to go through all this too except I had afib. If you are in good health you should pass those tests and get the ablation done. Mine came about from Covid and they ended up shocking my heart back into rhythm. I am sure you will do well. Good luck and never ignore heart issues.

You were lucky and I'm glad for you that you're on top of it. I worked with a young guy years ago who fainted while playing basketball at lunch. It turned out that he had a congenital heart rhythm abnormality and a pacemaker fixed him up. He was lucky to have discovered it early too.

I had a rapid heartrate in November and since my dad died at 50 from a heart attack, I had it checked out and it wound up being nothing. It did however start the ball rolling on me over-relying on someone and killing my closest friendship - so that sucked in a different way

You do not get SVT from Covid. It’s something you’re born with. It’s an extra electrical pulse that can only be cured through ablation.

i did. or at least that’s why my cardiology heart monitor report said. then they did some test where they went through the vein in my leg & said if they found the cause they would do ablation while i was already under. they couldn’t find it.

I've had PSVT for many years (it's quite common, especially among women). I currently take both beta blockers and calcium channel blockers. Never had an ablation and haven't had a PSVT episode since 2016. 👍🏾

Glad they caught it. I had something very similar and had an ablation to correct it. It’s generally an outpatient procedure and a couple days of rest you’ll as good as new. Good luck.
