Angels offered present day value of his Dodger contract … I suspect Ohtani wanted to be able to claim $700M, when in reality it’s $450m… but Ohtani wouldn’t have re-signed with Angels even if Arte matched

Ohtani saying he gave them a chance to match is a cop out though. The dodgers are the only teams that can offer that money due to their tv deal. He knew the relationship between Angels and Dodgers. Angels also were very patient with him and all his injuries and catered to him more than anyone. IMO
