The same type of logic applies to my desk. If I leave it a mess, I can usually find what I need within a minute or two. If I decide to organize it, afterwards I can never find anything. Ever again. lol
I have an even worse problem. Have sold things on Etsy, then couldn't find them! One poor woman bought a ring. It took me SIX MONTHS to find that thing. Re-offered it to her when I finally located it with a nice discount for her patience, LOL. Wasn't as lucky with another "lost" item, hahaha.
That is my fear about trying to list things for sale. Stuff tends to get absorbed into the collective. I will "rediscover" things that I bought at Goodwill a couple of months after I purchased them (sometimes still in the bag they came home in.)
Yeah... especially when we have so much stuff and not enough room to really organize it. I feel pretty desperate and overwhelmed some days. All I can do is pick away at it. I'm not sanguine about ever achieving organized nirvana... just try to make sure I know where the currently listed stuff lives.
I feel your pain. I overindulged in collecting Fiesta, and we've surpassed the critical mass stage. Right now I'm trying to find the space to store it all in such a way that I can find the pieces that I want, when I want them. I may have to resort to adding a Fiesta Wing onto the house, lol.
Acquired a buttload of Fiesta from a downsizing collector who did the one of every color thing. Dispensed much of it, only basic stuff left, but kept enough, LOL. However, the MAIN collection of mostly teapots from multiple other makers is what really takes up the space. Damned things don't stack.
