“The Kaua'i 'ō'ō was a small bird endemic to a single island in Hawai'i, known for its sweet and endearing song. After its final sighting in 1987 it was officially declared extinct, marked by a haunting recording of the last known male singing alone in the jungle.
Everyone has at one point felt alone and unheard, even if our own concrete jungles are teeming with life - we must contend with the fate of the Kaua'i 'ō'ō, and in its place make the choice to hold onto the small loves we share in an ever-changing world, remembering that we're not gone yet."
