I feel your pain!

I had that happen once on a winter tour, having taken these boots I loved that I hadn't used in years.

The soles basically fell to pieces on the first night.

Sigh.

I had brought sneakers with me just in case, but not as warm as the boots.

I feel your pain, I put a pair of “rig boots” 🥾 in storage at my kids, pre-covid. Picked them up in March on my way back to see after about 10 years. Decided to wear them to the airport as my luggage was full, it felt weird and sticky. To be cont.

By the time I got to the wharf to join the ship, I was leaving chunks of boot sole all the way up the wharf. They were unwearable. Lucky they had some spares onboard. Next my knee-pads disintegrated. I had no idea that rubber/plastic compounds deteriorated over time like that.

Found this out this past May when headed out the door for a summer graduation ceremony. They were barely worn.

Ended up wearing the lug heeled boots (that I deliberately wore on the plane) w/ a skirt, a look I didn't even try when it was in fashion.

😂 had to spend a day at work barefoot because my 90’s shoes disintegrated during the walk up the stairs to my office. It was a sad day because I loved those shoes and was so excited they were cool again.
