they were forced to become women so young. they never could experience that kind of care or safety. the kindest things Harrow's parents ever did was tie the noose for her. Gideon says that harrow could never find a way to stop carrying her sadness around. like it was a weight.

it's become such a fixation for me but ive run up against what l always do when facing something extrodinarily well written -- i could never do it justice. ofmd has the wiggle room of the writing being somewhat mid and the premise being fun to warp. so i don't feel nervous abt being stupid with it.

hence whyi never wrote fic for iwtv even though i greatly enjoyed it. the show was already really well written, and was about pretty intelligent characters. that's a challenge i don't have the confidence, time, or bandwidth to approach lol
