I'm stuck on the couch icing my bum knee, so I looked it up. Snow leopards pretty routinely hang out up to about 18k, and yaks are good up to about 20k, although they prefer to graze lower.

So, given that EBC is about 17.5k, possible!

Also yeah K2 wants you dead.

short roping is actually way less common than ppl think, I know the image of sherpas dragging millionaires up and down is a whole thing but in practice it's much rarer and more often than not if you stop you get left to die

Oh I know most of these guys aren't getting short-roped, especially on the Nepali led climbs that cater to non-Americans.

I'm more upset about the luxury operators choppering people up to base camp and what not.
