I think a massive recession/depression popping the bubble is the most likely scenario given the lack of a strong labor movement to demand wage increases, but sincerely thank you for the written reminder that it's not the only or best way out.
Item Prices are driven by 3 things-costs (inc.tariffs), anxiety about costs to replace the stock, and greed (esp in calmer times).
People don't talk about that. If you sell bread, and your costs to restock spike, or might, you'll raise your price on current stock, regardless of its actual past cost
Unless your media takes the place of basic education, I'm not sure how people are going to get information such as
"Tariff is a tax. You pay taxes, you pay for tariffs."

why is every senior citizen politician in this country obsessed with starting either a deflationary spiral or a race war what are they feeding these people
to some degree, he's speaking to his constituency here. vermont is a disproportionately old state, with a lot of the most active voters living on fixed incomes. we had a major upset in the state house, with dems losing the supermajority over 'cost of living' and 'affordability'.

Saw him suggest minimum wage should be $17 an hour which isn't NEARLY enough anymore. It needs to be like $25.

Learn some reality
The monopolies on food production have been juicing the price rise and declaring record profits year after year.
We're sitting here reeling from abuses of executive orders and tariff wars
Congress isn't in legislative session, only confirmation hearings.
I don't think so

Beyond the more obvious problems and deaths, taking $1.5 Trillion out of the economy would be disastrous
