Every time I see TTRPG discourse from Mearls he says something new that is divorced from the reality of design. It follows the social construct we have that if you have followers, people take you serious no matter your actual level of talent.

I seem to recall something like this the other week. It was an article that was basically like "other ttrpgs have stuff worth checking out" as the tagline but it somehow veers off wildly in the main body to say "dnd is more popular though so these other games need to git gud at marketing themselves"
