My great-uncle was shot in the head by Nazis & survived, but my grandparents told me the stories about what happened to their family members when I was 7 years old. I'll quote post the story.
I was so naive.
Not only did I read the book at age 5, I was in her house at age 5. And I'm Jewish.
I truly wasn't trying to be nasty. I wanted to make sure you knew that it wasn't fiction.
The WW II generation knew the cost of fighting fascism. We have to keep what they taught us alive, keep fighting, and teach our children too.
I donβt understand how you can hate another human being so much because of the color of their skin or their nationality. This is a human being. We were all made the same. Try to have a bit of acceptance in your heart. Many of the people you hate fought for your freedom.
