I lived in AK 9 yrs (7 in Anchorage & 2 in Fairbanks). I was sitting at the kitchen table where we watch roadrunners, doves & quails. As I read the poem, I elsewhere, in the same space you were in but it was AK. 😃

Indeed, I live in the countryside between forest & grain fields. I avidly feed the little Finnish song birds here. It was a sunny but chilly day today and the little guys were chowing down the peanuts, suet, and unshelled sunflower seeds! Had a couple of newcomers today! 🙌🙂
