On this day in 1956, local officials issued arrest warrants for civil rights activists for leading an "illegal boycott" to protest racial segregation on city buses. 89 would later be indicted.

I wish we learned more in school about the civil rights movement, from k-12. If blacks can live it, why can't whites learn about it? I know all the civil liberties I enjoy are care of the civil rights movement.
