My favourite was 'Famous Last Words' by Gillian McAllister.
It follows Cam, a young wife and mother, whose husband is involved in a hostage situation; a terrifying event made all the more complex when she finds out that he’s the gunman. It’s a fab thriller!
But I also want to mention Bitter Waters by Vivian Shaw, because I rarely talk about fantasy books. This is supernatural fantasy featuring “Dr Greta Helsing, doctor to the undead”. It’s clever, funny and pure escapism in novella form, so if you’re looking for something a bit different, give it a go!
