A little comic about my emotional journey with weather as winter is trying to end lol. I'm sure this isn't just a big midwestern mood, but I know it's definitely a universal midwestern experience.

My local chosen brother has his ass _viciously_ kicked by seasonal-affective disorder every year and I am really looking forward to things warming up so he can just be wrecked by current events, not current events _and_ the weather/sunlight.
Felt! It got to 71 yesterday and then dropped down to 62 today which is not a huge spike, but still was hoping it to be a tad warmer so that they didn't have the heater going in the trade mart at the local anime fest we went to today :'3
There usually is one more cold snap before Easter though ^^;
I think we lost our opportunity to switch to Celsius in the '90s and now we're just cruising with our completely bonkers imperial system lol. Fahrenheit is also just nice because when someone tells you it's 110F, you immediately know that they're miserable, and that's kind of nice.
I'm torn on what weather I want. On the one hand, winter means all my environmental allergens are dormant so I only have the asthma/long covid respiratory issues to wrestle. On the other, I do like NOT feeling like Bibendum whenever I get dressed for outdoors.
I always feel so out of step, especially around this time of year when it starts to warm up. People yearning for those hot temps while I dread it getting over the upper 60s.
I was born in the summer, so I think I must be naturally inclined to embrace the warmest part of the year because it has all the good memories lol. I don't mind a hot, hot day at all, but I feel bad for people that do because it's hard to escape!
Another July birthday! Yeah, I think I'd hate it a lot more if I was born in Florida in the middle of the summer. That's basically like being boiled alive on day one.
We almost jumped straight from winter to summer here, scared me because our summers are already long and brutal enough. But then it eased off and we might actually get a little bit of spring after all. As a treat.
We've had that on a few years, but I think this one is approaching at a fairly normal pace, thankfully. We've had a few warm days, as a treat, but then it'll snow. Then the snow will melt into slush for another week, then another warm day, etc.
yeah, i certainly feel this way after a long winter, but not really looking forward to the really hot days either. just wish summer would stay pleasantly warm forever.
