Yup mine are east/west facing so not ideal configuration but with battery storage I get 70 - 75% of my annual electric usage from them.

I don't have any (conservation area) but it does indeed make sense to put these on new builds. I don't understand why it all has to take so long to evolve in that direction.

I’m so glad they’re doing this. A couple of years back we were looking at houses, including several new builds, and couldn’t believe how few “green” features came as standard. Didn’t even have car charging points.

it is daft and once they are on new builds it will be easier to persuade people to retrofit. Partly because manufacturing cost will come down and partly because people will begin to expect to have solar panels.

We live in a conservation area and have them at the rear of our house, out of sight. We have no energy bills during the summer and export provides a little help for the winter🤷‍♂️

Good on you, i plan to get a heat pump in a few years when my boiler gets elderly when i got mine battery made little sense so i fixed a device to heat my water using spare electricity.
