They've refused to sign a blanket "no AI" agreement put forth by the cast (before the strike, unrelated to any union stuff), it seems that they want the freedom to use AI, perhaps with consent and compensation. If that's the case, what luck! Because that's exactly what our interim agreement covers.

THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE TO GO UNION???? THEY CAN JUST SIGN AI PROTECTIONS AND THAT'S IT??? It really IS just a piece of cake for them... plus, Hoyo can't use AI even if they wanted to, at least not without the person's consent. So what's stopping them? Jesus christ this is insane.

I wanted to ask about this specific claim if thats alright (I've found your posts as well as ones from other VAs really helpful). If this is about the NAVA AI Rider, I've seen people claiming that its 'flimsy' or 'weak'. I was wondering if you could shed more light onto the agreement? :)

I’m genuinely not an authority on the contract’s weakness, but based on what I know it wouldn’t be something actors would be able to legally enforce without paying out of pocket should the Chinese company violate their rights and use their voice without permission.

Thank you for the info! I've also seen people claiming that China has laws to protect VAs against AI use without consent specific site I'm looking at, but it doesn't really mention anything about it. Is anything in here that would actually help voice actors?

I've seen this mentioned as to why HoYo might not have signed the NAVA rider and was curious if you have any input on the validity of that?

HoYo (unofficially ofc) uses leaks as marketing and all files are easily datamined, including VO

(mind you, whether or not these files being so accessible is a good thing or not is definitely up for and worth debating! I'm just curious if there was a potential legal threat in signing under the way they currently operate regarding security of their files)

Does this agreement let them use non-union VAs and does it force them to flip to fully union down the line? I know about the Tart-Hartley forms but from what I've read those seem to have their own caveats. I'm doing my best to stay informed on the situation, so thanks!
