It really should be stressed that Genshin had the option to sign a simple “No AI” agreement - no involvement from any union, outside of any strike situation - and they said no.
*This* is crucial to realize when hearing any talking point about Hoyo or China providing AI protection.
They said no.

They've refused to sign a blanket "no AI" agreement put forth by the cast (before the strike, unrelated to any union stuff), it seems that they want the freedom to use AI, perhaps with consent and compensation. If that's the case, what luck! Because that's exactly what our interim agreement covers.

I've seen this mentioned as to why HoYo might not have signed the NAVA rider and was curious if you have any input on the validity of that?
HoYo (unofficially ofc) uses leaks as marketing and all files are easily datamined, including VO
I mean. Sure that might be why they didn’t sign. But that would be a flaw on Hoyo’s part, not the agreement’s?
