Version 4.3, the hair x mirror is still broken. I really want to switch to a newer Blender, but I lost any hope, as they don't seem to care about particle system anymore...

After desperately trying everything to solve this, looks like I found a solution:
- Use the Triangulate modifier as the first one.
- Delete edit from the particle system or create a new system.
- Check "Use Modified Stack" in particle system.
- Now, comb it all from scratch. Finally, with symmetry.
Thank you for sharing the fix!! It's frustrating that both hair particles and geo node hair have big limitations. I much prefer the geo node combing but their distribution options make it so hard to layer multiple systems

I can't even comb the geonode fur properly due to the lack of collision :'D (the only collision setting isn't customizable so it's not working). I've used shrinkwrap for this in the past, but it still doesn't seem to be what I need.
Oh YES, this annoying hair bug was a headache for me for years... I was so happy when it suddenly got fixed in 3.6 and then even more desperate when it got broken again.
