I agree that Ukraine joining NATO is ambitious, but a ceasefire deal should appeal to Russia, and avoiding constant bombardment is in Kyiv’s interest too. What alternative do you see especially with Trump in the White House?

Its not ambitious its delusional. A ceasefire without NATO membership would be pointless though. Best alternative would have been full-hearted support of Ukraine when they stood a real chance. This war is very expensive for Putin. economy, demography, reputation all went down the shitter.1/2

I mean that without guarantees Putin will break a ceasefire as soon as it fits him. Everything you propose boils down to trusting that Putin negotiates. I don't have any intel supporting this hope. And in case he doesn't, what is your plan B?

Catalyzing this decline to actually force Putin to negotiate is the best option imo. But we are failing at that and now we have to hope that Putin is willing to negotiate and that Trump will manage to get a fair deal for Ukraine. But as long as Putin is unwilling I say give Ukraine everything. 2/2
